Mission Employment Program- Mission Employment assists at-risk youth ages 18-24 who reside in the Town of Hempstead or City of Long Beach towards a career path

Vocational Services Program- Vocational Services provides vocational and educational counseling and services to individuals challenged with substance abuse who receive services from drug treatment agencies in Nassau County.

Enhanced Employment Initiative (EEI) Program: advances education and employment opportunities for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

The Workshops Service Program: New ground coordinates workshops to helps veterans, families, youth and individuals struggling with homelessness. Topics like: Financial literacy, professional skills (resume writing, job search, preparing for first day, dealing with conflicts at work), parenting skills for children of all ages, reviewing housing options, securing an apartment, preparing for a move, and assessing other housing needs

Family Development Centers: EOC of Nassau runs 6 family development centers. These centers provide employment services, including a job bank, help with resume writing, job referrals and job placement.

Family Development Centers: EOC of Suffolk runs 3 family development centers. These centers help low income families obtain employment and improve their job skills

Opportunities Long Island works to connect individuals from underserved communities to union construction.

Maureen's Haven has a drop-in center that provides a range of services for people experiencing homelessness or otherwise need help. The Job Assistance program provides assistance with job searching, resume writing, and interview preparation.

One Stop Employment Center: to help provide people with the tools they need during their job search. This center runs programs that specifically help youth, former homemakers, and criminally involved individuals.

Suffolk Works Employment Program (SWEP): assists individuals and families that qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Safety Net Assistance (SN), as well as individuals receiving Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) benefits.

Fresh Start Program: While Employment Center programs and services, such as Job Search & Placement Assistance, Employment Counseling, and eligibility-based Training & Educational Opportunities are provided, Fresh Start is specifically designed to identify barriers faced by the ex-offender and offers guidance, techniques and proven strategies to create a path back into the workforce and successful career advancement.

Career Couture Program: a boutique located at the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center that offers individuals proper business attire for upcoming interviews without a charge.

Displaced Homemaker Program: Suffolk County residents who are widowed, divorced, separated and unemployed or underemployed and are struggling to make ends meet, prepare today to enter
the workforce of tomorrow

Disability Employment Initiative Project: provides access to Disability Resource Coordinators who help job seekers with a disability access programs and services necessary to meet employment and asset development goals.

Unemployment Insurance Assistance: To collect regular unemployment insurance benefits, you must be ready, willing, and able to work.

Anyone calling from Department of Labor (DOL) will verify their identity by providing: (a) the date you filed your application and (b) the type of claim.
If you are eligible, your first payment will generally be made in two to three weeks from the time your claim is completed and processed. In some cases, we must get additional information before payment can be made and your first payment may take longer. We use this time to review and process your application for benefits. You will not receive benefits during this period. This is why you may see your claim status as “pending.”

Peer Training and Internships: Peer Specialist work can be especially rewarding and meaningful, and there is a large and growing demand for Peer Specialists. As the only peer- run agency on Long Island, HALI is committed to building peer workforce capacity in our region, supported by funding from the Wellness Collaborative of NY to coordinate the Long Island Regional Peer Network

Employment Services Program: Our Supported Employment Services are offered to those recovering from mental illness who are ready to engage in meaningful work! Whether returning to the workforce or entering it for the first time, our program is designed to focus on an individual’s skills and strengths in order to help them find and successfully maintain employment. We guide individuals to make informed decisions about their career paths with support including resume creation, job searching, job applications, prep for interviews, and developing work skills…with continued support! Through our program, participants also receive assistance in planning and managing SSI and SSDI as well as other public benefits.

Adult Career and Continuing Education SERVICES - Vocational Rehabilitation ACCES-VR: RiseWell Community Services can work with individuals seeking employment through the Supported Employment Program at ACCESS-VR. This intensive program is for individuals who need support with finding, securing and successfully maintaining competitive employment in the community. RiseWell’s Employment Specialists work one-to-one with individuals in order to assist each person with meeting his or her employment goals. Individuals who may be eligible for this program must be highly motivated to find employment, in need of job coaching whether on the job or off-site, in need of ongoing support and must be able to get to and from the work site independently

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP): A subsidized service-based training program available to individuals aged 55 and older. Our services extend to Long Island and Queens, offering the support and resources needed to redefine career paths and find meaningful employment.

Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) helps in assisting Individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment and to support independent living

YouthBuild Long Island YouthBuild Long Island is a signature program of United Way of Long Island, dedicated to changing the path of Long Island's youth by addressing the core issues facing low-income communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership development. At YouthBuild, men and women ages 16-24 work toward their GED High School Equivalency Diploma while learning essential job skills. The program currently serves the Town of Hempstead, the Town of Oyster Bay, and the City of Long Beach communities.

Dress for Success The mission of Dress for Success Brookhaven is to empower unemployed or underemployed women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Participants in the clothing program can join meetings held once a week for two hours that include a presentation on a job search topic by a professional speaker, an opportunity to network with fellow members, and one-on-one job search support in the Career Center. Based in Brookhaven.
