NYS Medicaid program you may apply for medicaid through the New York State Health Program (Health exchange), online, by phone or with a Navigator or Certified Application Counselor

If you are 65 or older or disabled you cannot apply through the New York State of Health.

Child Care Services The Suffolk County Department of Social Services (DSS) provides free or low cost subsidized child care services for eligible families living in Suffolk County. Child care is available for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. Children with Special needs may be able to receive subsidized child care through 18 years of age. In order for a family to receive subsidized child care services, the family must meet specific program and financial criteria that are determined by federal, state and local regulations. For two-parent or two caretaker households, each parent or caretaker must meet at least one of the program criteria

Temporary Assistance and SNAP Benefits Suffolk County Department of Social Services (DSS) provides monthly Temporary Assistance (TA) to eligible individuals or families as well as programs for one time emergency needs. The SNAP Benefit Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) can help low income households purchase food items.
Applications for these programs can be obtained at one of the DSS Centers Monday –
Friday from 8:00am till 3:00pm.
